Life is a Journey,
not a Destination
I
see it in every activity in life. Most of the people are so focused on getting
where they want to be, they forget to enjoy the journey. I call this as a destination
syndrome. It’s really a vision problem. Just like being nearsighted or color
blind. Their focus is just off.
We have decided to visit Jawahar
(Wada) on our bikes, we have group of four people. While riding that took me
right by the awesome scenic, many small water bodies and waterfalls , Hanuman
Temple, Jai vilas Palace, Katya maruti Temple.
At the end of the ride, I remarked
about how exciting it was to see the Jai vilas Palace. Rajesh from our group
dully asked, “What Palace? All I saw was the cars and trucks in front of me for
the whole ride.”
He
was laser-focused on getting to the end of the ride, the only view he got was cars
and Trucks! Not a pretty sight.
With relationships, it’s also
important to find the right path for ourselves, and to be as sure as we can
that we have chosen the right partner. And when we’ve hopefully found them,
it’s so important to enjoy each moment of that relationship, not always be
looking to the future.
We might think that having children
will make us happy, but then when we have them we realize all the
responsibilities and difficulties that brings, and may look back on our days
without children with fondness.
The common pattern in all this is
choosing the right road for the type of person we are and finding happiness at
as many places along that route as we can.
So it’s important to look at all the
good things in our lives and to enjoy them to the full right now. That is much
more likely to bring happiness than waiting for it to appear around the corner.
Hope so everyone must enjoy the Journey ......not a destination.
